Maclin, Purrazzo Host Wrestling Showcase for Tunnel to Towers

Pro wrestlers Steve Maclin and Deonna Purrazzo will host the Battle for the Brave: Wrestling Showcase for Heroes on June 6 at the Rahway Rec Center in Rahway, New Jersey. The event starts at 7 p.m. ET and benefits the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which aids first responders' families and wounded veterans. Maclin of TNA Wrestling and Purrazzo, Ring of Honor's women's pure champion, drew inspiration from the Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament.

The pair told Fox News Digital the event supports the New York-New Jersey area affected by 9/11. Maclin, who enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2005 after the attacks, served as a machine gunner with the 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines Weapons Company in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, from 2007 to 2011. Purrazzo described a post-9/11 sense of national unity that grew stronger as the wife of a veteran.

Maclin enters the Battle for the Brave Memorial Cup gauntlet match as the first of 13 competitors, including Richard Holliday, Megan Bayne and BDE, in an over-the-top battle royal that ends with a singles match between the final two. Purrazzo plans commentary involvement. The Hardy Boyz, Jeff and Matt Hardy, will headline and praised Tunnel to Towers for aiding military, first responders and police.

Floor seats sold out, with general admission and Hardy meet-and-greet tickets available. The showcase aligns with America 250 celebrations marking the nation's 250th anniversary and 25 years since 9/11. Maclin and Purrazzo urged vocal patriotism amid polls showing declining U.S. pride, including a Gallup survey last June and a Fox News poll with six in 10 expressing pride.
