Jonathan Kuminga hits 75-foot basket in Atlanta Hawks' 135-120 win over Dallas Mavericks

Atlanta Hawks defeated the Dallas Mavericks 135-120 on March 18, 2026, at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The arena has served as the Mavericks' home since October 2001.[1]

With about five seconds remaining in the third quarter, Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, 23, secured a rebound near his own basket, took one dribble forward and launched a 75-foot pass toward teammate Jock Landale under the opposing basket. The ball went through the net for three points.[2]

The shot ranks as the sixth-longest made basket in NBA play-by-play era history (since the 1996-97 season) and the longest by a Hawks player, surpassing Jason Terry's 63-foot make on January 5, 2000, according to Elias Sports Bureau.[2][3]

The victory marked the Hawks' 11th consecutive win, tying for the fourth-longest streak in franchise history behind a record 19-game run during the 2014-15 season.[4][5]

Atlanta sits eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. Dyson Daniels scored 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting. Jalen Johnson added 17 points and 11 rebounds. Kuminga finished with 16 points, five rebounds and three assists.[2]

The Mavericks fell to 23-47, losing 11 of their previous 13 games.[2]
